Angel’s Peak 2011, Tatsis

Date Tasted: 11/2020

Tatsis brothers are pioneers in the natural wine sector with many excellent examples in their portfolio, including a strong value for money benefit. The best examples show a unique character with corners and muscles yet balanced and express Goumenissa's terroir in its own way. Angel's peak is a blend of 4 varieties with more than 12 months of ageing in oak barrels that is obvious when you taste it.

Appearance: Medium garnet colour.

Nose: It is complex enough, with some red and black wild berries, dried fruits, cedar and earthy notes such as forest and mushrooms.

Palate: The earthy and oaky notes become straighter. It is dry, with medium to high acidity, almost high soft tannins, full body and medium aftertaste.

Drink: Drink it now since further ageing will not help it.

Food Pairing: It paired excellently with beef meatballs.
