Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018, Domaine Capuano-Ferreri

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2018, Domaine Capuano-Ferreri

Date Tasted: 4/2022

In a wine region like Burgundy, where the prices are rising yearly and the demand for wines is more than ever, it is not easy to find good bottles in the ten euro category. So either you know the producers very well, and you buy with knowledge, or you are pretty lucky. In my case, the seller's recommendation was spot on.

Appearance: Deep lemon colour.

Nose: It has developed a lively complexity with sweet spices, tropical fruit and lemon tart. But, in any way, it does not give the sense of inexpensive wine and is enjoyable.

Palate: It is palatable with a creamy-buttery feeling. The medium flavour intensity and the medium-length delicious aftertaste are the two elements that keep the bottle back from the great region's examples. However, the complexity is stunning, with a pleasant balance and high acidity.

Drink: It is delicious.

Food Pairing: Salmon in the oven.
