Lytton Springs 2017, Ridge Vineyards
Date Tasted: 3/2021
After I tasted the breathtaking Cabernet Sauvignon, I scanned the Greek market to find anything from the Ridge Vineyards. I bought several wines, and I opened the Lytton Springs first since it is pretty famous.
Appearance: The colour is deep purple and looks alive.
Nose: It has pronounced aromatic intensity flooding the glass with ripe red fruits and black as well—the complexity continues with some dried and preserved fruits like fig and prune—also, cheese, fennel, coconut and coffee.
Palate: Again, the palate is magical! Exceptional balance, perfect, soft and juicy tannins with a vein of acidity and medium aftertaste.
Drink or Hold: It is appetizing, but do not hurry to empty your cellar.
Food Pairing: It matched just perfect with pizza and lentils. Also, slow-cooked meat versions are acceptable.
