Ottocento Bijeli 2011, Clai
Date Tasted: 8/2020
It is an interesting well-aged wine, my first Croatian one, with a nutty and honey character that has passed its best but without being tired. I was surprised when I saw the alcohol level since it was undetectable, although I am quite sensitive.
Appearance: The colour is medium amber.
Nose: It is fully developed with aromas such as marzipan, biscuit, kerosene, caramel and honey to be some of them.
Palate: It is dry with medium to high acidity, medium body and medium hazelnut aftertaste.
Drink: Not suitable for further ageing.
Food Pairing: It paired fair well with Comté cheese.
