First made in 1971, Tignanello is considered one of the pioneers of the Super Tuscan movement, a category of wines that blend traditional Italian grape varieties with international ones like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The wine is predominantly made from Sangiovese, with small percentages of these international varieties. This creates a wine with deep complexity, rich fruit flavours, and a structure combining elegance and power.
