Les Pins 2018, Domaine Bernard Gripa
Date Tasted: 2/2021
This wine comes from a small appellation in Northern Rhône just south of the famous Cornas. On St-Péray, they used to make white sparkling wines, but today the varieties of Marsanne and Roussanne are giving their best.
Appearance: The colour is a medium lemon.
Nose: It has medium aromatic intensity with clear ripe yet fresh aromas like peach, lime, melon and apple.
Palate: It is dry with medium acidity and an oily texture. The flavours are riper with some earthy notes that come up in light on a medium finish.
Drink or Hold: It is pleasant now, but as most wines of its kind, it has tremendous ageing potential.
Food Pairing: It is ideal as an aperitif but can accompany dishes like salads and fried fishes.
