Les Quarterons 2018, Sébastien Riffault

Date Tasted: 2/2021

For one more time, Sébastien Riffault surprising me and sent all the terroir theories to the garbage, proving that man is the most crucial terroir aspect. If you also have tasted some of the other Riffault's wine and expect something similar, you are far away.

Appearance: The colour is a pale lemon.

Nose: Imagine you are in the middle of a garden with blooming night flowers, honeysuckle and elderflowers, and you have it all.

Palate: It is complex and multi-layered, with high acidity, medium to light body, and vibrant flavours such as apricot, lychee, asparagus and all the floral. The finish is medium with lemon and juicy sense.

Drink: It is delicious now, and even if it has the potential for a short ageing period, drink it!

Food Pairing: It is perfect on its own, but if you like to pair it with food, I strongly recommend cooking something with asparagus inside.
