Roes Carignan 2017, Oinotropai Winery
Date Tasted: 5/2020
It is a delicious wine and one of my favourite vintages.
Appearance: The colour is pale ruby with purple hues.
Nose: Intense aromas, mostly red fruits and herbs in harmony, though it needs time and air to open up.
Palate: Sour cherry and jam berries on the palate, high acidity, high velvety tannins, high well-defined alcohol, medium to full body and medium aftertaste.
Drink or Hold: It is a glorious vintage for ageing.
Food Pairing: It will pair perfectly with eggplant in the oven with tomato sauce and Kalamata olives.
