Kydonitsa Barrique 2016, Ktima Ligas

Date Tasted: 5/2020

It is a distinctive wine with a unique character. I am not sure if everyone would like it on the table since the deliberate oxidation is apparent, but for me worth the try.

Although it is not certified, permaculture cultivation and hands-off approaches are applied.

Appearance: The colour is deep amber.

Nose: It has a pronounced aromatic intensity full of citrus fruits, sugar fruits, ginger and caramel, very complex and well-developed.

Palate: It still shows complexity and depth with flavours like cinnamon, honeycomb and sweet spoon quince on top. It has moderate acidity, medium to full body, and yuzu aftertaste.

Drink: It is ready to enjoy now, but honestly, I am curious to taste it after 2-3 years.

Food Pairing: Try it with chicken in the oven with orange, honey and mustard.
