Les Vieilles Vignes de Sylvaner 2018, Domaine Ostertag
Date Tasted: 5/2021
It is an enjoyable wine with some minerality notes and a likeable gentle fruity character.
Appearance: The colour is pale lemon with some green hues.
Nose: It is not an aromatic wine but expresses perfectly the tropical fruit and the minerality notes. Pineapple, grapefruit, apple, peach, rose and wet gravel are some notable aromas.
Palate: It is soft on the palate with excellent texture. There is an unquestionable balance between the wine elements: almost high acidity, light body and medium aftertaste.
Drink: It is time to start emptying your cellar.
Food Pairing: I would enjoy it with salads and light meals or octopus and small fishes.
