Mavrotragano 2014, Santo Wines
Date Tasted: 5/2020
Ageing led this wine to be well balanced and gain resolved tannins.
Appearance: Medium garnet colour.
Nose: It has a medium intensity with mostly black fruits like plum, cherry, fig and raisin in a combination of dried character and jamminess.
Palate: Leather, tar and earthy notes appear on the palate, medium body, medium acidity, the alcohol high but well defined, soft tannins and prolonged sweet aftertaste.
Drink or Hold: It is ready to drink now but well promising for the next few years.
Food Pairing: It paired with different barbeque meats, and the better combination was with chicken, followed by beef, lamb chops and pork.
