Bandol Rosé 2019, Domaine Tempier

Date Tasted: 5/2021

It always has a place in the lists with the most worthy rosé wines of the world. That is not a coincidence, I must say. Bandol is a famous region for bold, structured red wines, but that beauty will take your mind after you taste it.

Appearance: The colour is deep salmon.

Nose: It is explosive on the nose with unusual complexity for rosé wine. Many red fruits, chalk powder, lemon blossoms and some spices as well make a desirable whole.

Palate: It is dry with high acidity. The body is medium, and the flavours are intense, still showing complexity and minerality—extra point for the soft yet powerful texture and the not ending aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: It is ready to drink but can stay in the cellar four to six years more.

Food Pairing: Try it with Mediterranean recipes like bouillabaisse, stuffed vegetables, pasta with mushrooms or saffron or shrimps or whatever.
