Collection La Roque Assyrtiko 2020, Château La Rogue
Date Tasted: 2/2022
Assyrtiko is Greece's noblest white grape and one of the greatest in all Mediterranean countries. The combination of solid structure, high acidity and unique aromatic profile are the main advantages of Assyrtiko and are enough to spotlight every terroir. Moreover, Assyrtiko is planted in Australia, Northern Italy, California and Southern France, hoping to become the first variety from Greece with international success.
Appearance: Deep lemon colour.
Nose: It has a medium intensity with a tropical fruit core, mainly melon, avocado and pineapple. The grapefruit, nectarine and earthiness add layers and complexity.
Palate: It is textured with sharp acidity. Mango and passion fruit are intense. It is a medium-bodied wine with a medium-length aftertaste.
Drink: It is enjoyable now and for the next three years.
Food Pairing: Its texture, acidity and tropical aromas will make a South American Ceviche stand out.
