Les Sinards, Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2006, Famille Perrin
Date Tasted: 7/2020
It was the second wine that we chose from our cellar and opened in the event. "Les Sinards" is the name for the young vines planted into the famous Château de Beaucastel. Comparing it with the Château de Beaucastel 2005, it has developed slightly less complexity, and the tannins were not so elegant. Anyway, it remains an excellent wine that has aged really well.
Appearance: The colour is deep garnet with brown hues.
Nose: It is ripe with well-defined red berries, cedar and tobacco on top.
Palate: It has many spices on the palate with medium acidity, high soft tannins, full body and long, slightly bitter aftertaste.
Drink: There is no reason for more ageing.
Food Pairing: One more fantastic pairing of the night was that with limousine steak with pepper sauce.
