Santenay 1er Cru “Les Gravières” 2019, Jean-Marc Vincent

Date Tasted: 10 / 2023

The village of Santenay is home to one of Burgundy’s most exciting small domains, managed by Jean-Marc Vincent and his wife Anne-Marie. Established in 1997, Domaine Jean-Marc Vincent began with vineyards inherited from Jean-Marc’s grandfather. Today, the estate spans just over 5 hectares, with vineyards located in Santenay, Auxey-Duresses, and Puligny-Montrachet.

Jean-Marc Vincent is no ordinary winemaker. His philosophy revolves around respect for the land and a dedication to quality that shines through in every bottle. Vincent’s approach to winemaking is one of precision and patience, allowing the natural attributes of the terroir to express themselves fully.

🍷 Appearance: Bright, deep lemon colour.

👃 Nose: It has excellent synergy between the fruit aromas and the oak influence, resulting in a highly complex wine. Give it some time to air, and intense aromas of lemon, grapefruit, pear, apricot, vanilla and cinnamon will reward you.

👅 Palate: It is round and velvet with high acidity and medium-bodied. Concentrated flavours of citrus fruits, limestone and clove.

💞 Finish: It has a long, intense, fresh aftertaste, sealing the high-quality result.

🍷 Drink or Hold: It has entered the drinking window but can stay in the cellar for up to ten years.

🍽️ Food Pairing: Carbonara or chicken a la creme.
