Skeveldra 2015, Sébastien Riffault
Date Tasted: 4/2021
It is a hardcore wine and reminds me of the forgotten two-year-old barrel with the oxidized wine that none drank into my grandfather's cellar. If you had such an experience, I think that you will find Skeveldra not much different.
Appearance: The colour is a confusing pale amber with some honey hues.
Nose: The oxidation is pretty high and makes it monotonous. It has some citrus, apple, peach, and the characteristic aroma of botrytis that save the situation.
Palate: It is dry with high acidity that saves the wine from the sink. The body is medium to light, and the aftertaste is moderate.
Drink: Drink it. There is not even one reason to not do it.
Food Pairing: It is hard to find something harmonious. Anyway, try it with intense flavours, tzatziki, for example.
