Armathos rosé 2019, Giorgos Loulis
Date Tasted: 10/2020
Different style of rose that obviously is out of the current trends but very close to Greek flavours. The colour supports this argument since it is quite different from the Provence salmon that everyone seeks (customers and winemakers). Even the aromatic profile is too ripe with emphasis on red fruits. I suppose variety plays the principal role in the final result.
Appearance: Deep pink colour.
Nose: It is overripe with aromas like strawberry, redcurrant, sour cherry, violet, rose and jasmine.
Palate: It is dry, with almost high acidity, medium to full body and medium strawberry aftertaste.
Drink: Drink it now is not suitable for ageing.
Food Pairing: Τry it with okra in the oven with balsamic vinegar, herbs and tomato sauce.
