Artemis 2017, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars

Date Tasted: 4/2022

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is a historic and reputable winery in Napa Valley since it won the Cabernet Sauvignon competition in the famous 1976 Judgment of Paris. Although it is not inexpensive, Artemis is an entry-level, heavy oaked Cabernet Sauvignon.

Appearance: Deep purple colour.

Nose: It has a ripe bouquet of blackberry, blackcurrant and redcurrant with a thick oaky layer and an intense vanilla core.

Palate: It is tasty and soft, with pronounced flavours of small ripe berries and spices like cinnamon and vanilla. The tannins are almost high, as well as the acidity. It is medium-bodied with a medium aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: It is pleasant to drink, yet it will develop in the next four years.
