Cyrus One 2016, La Tour Melas

Date Tasted: 4/2020

The story of La Tour Melas is quite impressive, and it starts when the owner, Kyros Melas, placed a bet with a colleague in Zurich back in 1994. Cyrus One is a safe and inexpensive entrance to the winery's portfolio.

Appearance: The colour is deep ruby with garnet hues.

Nose: It is intense with black plum, blackcurrant, bramble, on top, eucalyptus as well, supported by spices and cedar.

Palate: It expresses tobacco, leather and acai berries on the mouth, well-defined barrel and alcohol, full-body, high acidity, high ripe tannins, long aftertaste.

Drink or Hold: The wine has aged very well but can develop more in the next few years.

Food Pairing: Better prefer dishes with meat and herbs like pork with rosemary.
