Date Tasted: 3/2021

The dry wine of the Mavrodaphne variety can be remarkable, and in my opinion, it is a truly promising grape. When I work, some guests from abroad in the restaurants ask me to surprise them with something exceptional. My first choice is always a kind version of dry Mavrodafne, and in the end, they always take some bottles back home. I think this is a good sign.

Appearance: The colour is deep ruby.

Nose: It has a nice complexity with earthy savoury notes, leather and clay that dominate the red fruits.

Palate: It is juicy with red cherry, raspberry and plum. The acidity is medium to high, the tannins medium and soft, and the finish medium.

Drink or Hold: It is enjoyable now and in the next 3-4 years.

Food Pairing: Braised meat versions are an excellent choice to accompany this wine.
