Sitia 2015, Domaine Economou

Sitia 2015, Domaine Economou

Date Tasted: 4/2022

Not many wines can be delicious, distinctive and unique in such a wide range of temperatures. The first sip was at 12C° and the last around 20C°, and it never disappointed. It broke all the tasting rules.

Appearance: Deep golden colour with honey hues.

Nose: Even if the deliberate oxidation is pronounced keeps its freshness and the fruit character. The complexity is evident with orange, nectarine, honey and butterscotch.

Palate: It is simply delicious. It is full-bodied and intense yet with finesse. The acidity is almost high with solid flavours of white pepper, kerosene, mushroom, nutmeg and a nearly long aftertaste.

Drink: There is no actual reason for further ageing.

Food Pairing: Anchovies, sardines and fatty seafood.
